And English faculty at Mason combine their strong reputations as scholars and writers with an equally strong commitment to teaching. We are proud that members of the English faculty have been frequent winners and finalists in the University's annual competition for its Excellence in Teaching Awards. We are also proud of our alumni, who pursue careers in education and the arts, business, government, professional writing and law. They also go on to further study in graduate programs, including the department's own Master of Fine Arts program, one of the top creative writing programs in the country.
