David Kaufmann attended Princeton and Yale Universities and has been teaching at George Mason since 1989. He is the author of The Business of Common Life (Johns Hopkins UP, 1995) and a number of articles on the Frankfurt School. He has recently finished a monograph on Philip Guston and has been a frequent contributor to the English edition of the Forward, the oldest Yiddish newspaper in the United States. He has taught a number of different courses and prides himself on being the department's utility infielder.Email:
