Joyce Johnston

Adjunct

Joyce Johnston has been an adjunct faculty member at George Mason University for 16 years, most of them spent teaching English 302 (Advanced Composition and Literature). A specialist in copyright and fair use, she spoke on these issues at the 4C's annual conference in Denver in March of 2001, as well as the Pennsylvania Educational Technology Conference in February, to which she has been invited to return. She will be presenting a workshop on teaching electronic copyright laws at the Virginia Society for Technology in Education next March in Roanoke, VA. Working with secondary teachers, Joyce has trained media specialists and administrators on copyright issues for Hanover County, The City of Manassas and Arlington County in Virginia. As a National Board certified teacher, she chaired a panel on the certification process at the Virginia Association of Teachers of English annual conference in Hampton, VA, in October.
