Farrington has an M.F.A. in fiction writing from George Mason University. He has taught at George Mason, Mary Washington College, American University, and currently teaches in the Johns Hopkins M.A. in Writing Program. He has published more than a dozen short stories as well as creative nonfiction and a number of articles on the teaching of writing.
