conventions of writing in literary studies. In this course you will develop the interpretive
skills you will need for further study in the major, through in-depth close reading,
intertextual analysis, and critical reading in literary scholarship. We will study texts through the lens of literary theories, such as gender, postcolonial, class, and sexuality theories.
