Independent studies are faculty-directed, individualized sections of ENGH 798 meant to enhance your program of study.  Independent studies are most appropriate to students who have specific research interests outside topics adressed in existing coursework.

ENGH 798 is a variable credit course meaning you can propose an independent study for 1-6 credit hours.

Independent studies must be planned with the guidance and support of Mason faculty, proposed, and finally approved by the graduate director and department chair.  Only after approval is a section of ENGH 798 added to your schedule.
