Our undergraduate programs include a BA degree that offers specialized concentrations to enhance any undergraduate degree in English. We also support general education for non-majors, interdisciplinary minors, and a minor in English.
English faculty at George Mason combine a commitment to teaching with strong reputations as scholars and creative writers. Our scholarly faculty regularly publish books and articles on their research specialties, present their work at academic conferences and serve on editorial boards of academic journals. Creative writers in the department are nationally recognized for their fiction, non-fiction and poetry. Members of the English faculty have been frequent winners and finalists in the University's annual competition for its Excellence in Teaching Awards.
