Proposal Writing Students Published in Professional Association Publication
Two students in Dr. Heidi Lawrence’s Spring 2020 Advanced Proposal Writing class have been published on the Association for Proposal Management Professionals’ (APMP) National Capital Area’s (NCA’s) official quarterly publication. MA-PWR student Melissa Howell penned the article, “Securing your NEXT Win” and English undergraduate Madison Hoffman’s article, “Three Surprising Things I’ve Learned as a Student of Proposal Writing,” outlines the experiences of a proposal writing student learning the profession.
The APMP is the major international professional organization for proposal writers and managers, and the NCA is the largest regional chapter of the APMP. These publication opportunities were created through a new partnership between APMP and Dr. Lawrence’s proposal writing classes at GMU to create publishing opportunities for students; as seasoned professionals, APMP members are interested in hearing the “fresh” views and takes on proposal writing that our students have to offer.
