Section Information for Fall 2021

Ghosts and monsters: what do they want and why are so many of us drawn to stories that actively set out to scare us? What do our ghosts and monsters tell us about ourselves and about our world? To help us think about all this and more, we'll read The Haunting of Hill House, a Neil Gaiman novel (either The Graveyard Book or Coraline), and various other scary stories. Coursework will also include essays, lots of short in-class writings and/or discussion board posts, an interactive in-class presentation, and a creative project option. Join us for a spooky autumn!
