American short story writers and novelists from late 20th century to the present, including Toni Morrison, Louise Erdich, Jesmyn Ward, as well as graphic novels and works of speculative and dystopian fiction.  Active class participation required.

Recommended Prerequisite: Satisfaction of University requirements in 100-level English and in Mason Core literature.
