ENGH 616: Nonfiction Writing Workshop

ENGH 616-001: Nonfiction Writing Workshop
(Spring 2019)

04:30 PM to 07:10 PM R

East Building 134

Section Information for Spring 2019

In this class, you will have a chance to critique your peers’ work and have yours critiqued in a workshop format.  There will be three rounds of workshops, so you can submit three essays, nonfiction stories, feature pieces, or excerpts from a longer project; you can also elect to submit two pieces and a revision of one of them (for the last round).  It is fine—perhaps even expected—to submit and keep working on projects you started in a previous class or at your undergraduate institution.  You will learn as much from commenting on your peers’ work in writing and in class discussions as from having yours workshopped.  This class is open to MFA students in any of the three genres.  Students who are not in the MFA Program can only enroll in the class with the instructor’s permission: they MUST contact the instructor and submit a writing sample to obtain the permission.
