This course will focus on Bishop's poems, but will also consider her prose, translations, and visual art, as well as her influences and the many recent and contemporary poets she has influenced and influences still. Expect to read closely and deeply and not too widely. Students will offer one brief and one more extensive presentation, along with their written work.
