Leeya Mehta honored with 2024 CHSS faculty civic excellence award

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is proud to honor Leeya Mehta with the 2024 CHSS faculty civic excellence award.

Mehta is a prize-winning poet, fiction writer, and essayist. She is the director of the Alan Cheuse International Writers Center and teaches world literature at George Mason.

The faculty excellence award is given each fall at the college's signature event, Community and Catalysts: Achievements, Awards, and Innovations, a celebration of alumni, faculty, and students who leadership, research, and service have made outstanding contributions to their fields, communities, and to the university.
