The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is proud to honor Steve Gladis, MA English '84, PhD Education '95, with the 2025 CHSS Alumni Service Award.
Gladis is CEO of Steve Gladis Leadership Partners and author of more than 25 books on leadership and communication, and four novels. His career is rooted in service, scholarship, and impact and through executive coaching, empowers individuals across sectors—from corporate boardrooms to government agencies—to become better leaders.
In addition to his position as senior scholar with George Mason’s Center for the Advancement of Well-Being, his past roles as a decorated Marine Corps officer, FBI special agent, and University of Virginia faculty member further enrich his perspective on leadership.
Gladis' most recent novel, The Brides of War, was released on September 30, 2025, marking 50 years since the end of the Vietnam War. It is a powerful novel that shares the untold story of the women forever changed by America's most controversial war.
