Big Red Displays Student Work in English
"Reassembling" by Megan Pierce, 2010

What began as an offhand remark during class in the Spring of 2010 quickly became a mission for a few English students who wanted a place to show that their coursework goes far beyond the reading and writing of texts. The result of their hard work in planning and raising funds is 'Big Red,' a display cabinet parked like a fire truck outside Robinson A 487, the main English department office. Curated by poetry professor Susan Tichy, the cabinet currently boasts work and publications by undergraduate and graduate students from creative writing, literature, folklore, and linguistics. According to Anne Le, MFA '11, "The most wonderful thing about the display is the sense of community it brings both to all who submit their work and to all who stop to take a minute and look."
