followed by a Q&A with filmmaker Marcelo Torcida

Friday October 23 at 5pm in Johnson Center Cinema

Happy Those Who Cry (Paraguay 2014) explores the dichotomy of agency and fate when a boy from a wealthy family, Juan (Carlos Cabra), tries to escape the hypocrisy of his privileged life. On the streets, he meets a local spiritual leader, Father Mario, who becomes determined to return Juan to health and safety.

Marcelo Torcida will be interviewed on Studio A preceding the screening of his film. All are invited to attend this live-to tape taping in Innovation Hall at 2:45pm (4th Floor, GMU TV Studio). As this is a recorded and televised event, attendees will be asked to leave electronic devices out of the room (or turned off) and there will be no access to the sound stage. 

Reception before the screening at 4:30pm in the Johnson Center Cinema. 

All events are free and open to the public.
