FAVS Fall Showcase 2015

December 11 and 12 in the Johnson Center Cinema 

 

The Mason Film Festival was founded in Spring 2013 by SI Films and the Film and Video Studies (FAVS) Program in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. This Fall's Showcase features films by video production students, documentary filmmaking students, fiction filmmaking students, graduating Seniors and graduate students from Film and Video Studies. Join us on December 11 and 12 in the Johnson Center Cinema.

Dirty, Gabrielle Mitchell (7 mins). Assistant Director: Kaelen Smith, Script Supervisor: Maria Barranco. Set in the late '90s, Dirty explores the rebuilding of a biracial young girl’s self-confidence during a period of emotional growth. Catherine is seven years old, timid, and coping with the cruelty of her grandfather, who harbors feelings of prejudice against Catherine and her brother Isaac because of their race. When Catherine’s grandfather makes a cruel remark about the color of her skin, she finds comfort and strength in the words of her her mother.
 
Mazel Tov, Brandon Langford (6 mins). Assistant Director: Katlin Haberdash, Script Supervisor: Annavictoria Knight. Carol and Barbra have been friends for years. But when Carol makes a rude statement about Barbra’s engagement, a confrontation follows. By the end, Carol delivers a monologue of epic proportions, with a wine glass firmly in hand.
