About the Speakers:
Dr. Emma Rose is a technical communication scholar whose research and teaching is motivated by a commitment to social justice and designing for inclusion. She uses participatory design and research techniques to help conceptualize solutions for community-based problems.
With over ten years of community-based consulting as a User Experience designer (UX), Dr. Turner continues collaborating with community members and students to make technologies and texts more functional, usable, accessible, and inclusive.
Dr. Sackey teaches courses in environmental communication, information design, user-experience design, and nonprofit writing. His research centers on the dynamics of environmental public policy deliberation, environmental justice, and environmental community-based participatory research.
Dr. Sánchez studies the impact that technologies and policies have on diverse publics within the contexts of medicine, urban development, and political discourse. He has taught graduate courses on political rhetoric, writing for health & medicine, and technical comics in TPC.
