Writing centers, composition

As Assistant Director of the Writing Center, Dr. Massie manages the center's operations, supervises and mentors the center's staff, and teaches Advanced Composition. She holds a PhD in English from the University of Texas at Austin, where she worked as a writing center consultant and graduate student administrator for several years. Her research revolves around anti-racism, critical pedagogy, and empathy in the writing center context; she is currently co-authoring a book chapter on what writing centers can learn from abolitionist and anarchist theory and praxis.
