Joe Killiany received his M.A. in literature from New Mexico State University in 2009 and has been teaching at Mason since 2013. He is one of the co-founding fiction editors of Barrelhouse, a nationally distributed literary magazine. Previous to coming to Mason, he was a full-time technical writer focusing on issues of substance abuse and mental health. In addition, Joe spent three years as a special education teacher in the DC public school system.
