Rachel is a first year English master’s student concentrating in literature at George Mason University. They hold a graduate teaching assistantship and currently work as a consultant for the university’s writing center. As an emerging scholar, Rachel believes in diversifying the literary canon and prioritizing accessibility to knowledge. Being a first generation college student emphasizes this desire for educational collaboration and community based learning. Rachel’s identities in both the neurodivergent and queer community informs all the work they do. Often, their writing revolves around blurring the lines of gender and finding traces of the LGBTQ+ community in writing, often found in the spaces between what is and is not said. Their research interests include medieval and gothic literature, monstrosity, gender, supernatural encounters, and poetry.
