Ruth is a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the English Department’s MA in Teaching Writing and Literature Program. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in English with a Minor in Teaching from University of Washington in 2004. Ruth teaches in the Writing Center, utilizing her deep experience with all styles of academic writing  across literature and the sciences, as well as creative & business writing to help students improve their composition abilites. Ruth also coaches creative fiction and nonfiction writers in all genres; guiding them through each phase of producing publishable manuscripts. She considers herself a bona fide “word nerd” – she loves reading, writing and thinking about ideas & writing. When she is not doing this, she's probably adoring her Tuxedo cat Williams, watching scary movies or getting out for a good surf session!
