Composition

Sondra K. Patrick (PhD, George Mason University) teaches English composition at George Mason University (GMU).  She has held both faculty and administrative positions at The George Washington University and GMU.  Her research interests include the freshman experience, composition theories for 21st century writing, teaching and learning online, qualitative inquiry and the Regency era of Jane Austen.  Her publications and conference presentations have focused on college teaching, institutional change, learning styles and online communication.  Her professional contributions included serving for many years as consulting editor for the Journal of Educational Research and on the Fulbright Selection Committee, Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program, Institute of International Education.
