Your Career

University Career Services and the English department are committed to providing a variety of career services, networking opportunities, and employment-related events to alumni. Together, we offer tools to help you, as English alumni, manage and further develop your career.

Careers in English

Each semester, the English department holds workshops, recruiting events, and information sessions designed to foster connections between alumni and our industry, government, and nonprofit partners.

By joining the English Alumni Society, you will receive notification about these events via email. Email Professor Don Gallehr to join the society.

Career Fairs, Panels, and Workshops

Whether you would like to fine-tune your career skills or learn new ones, the University Career Services at George Mason University offers excellent services to meet any English alumni’s needs!

Every fall and spring semester, University Career Services hosts a two-day, multi-industry fair for current students and alumni. You can also attend workshops on career topics such as Behavioral Interviewing and Salary Negotiation or come by for a panel facilitated by area employers and other alumni.

For more information about career fairs and other events, please see the University Career Services website.
