Composition: Composition Pedagogy, Science Fiction and Fantasy
Carlos Chism is a Term Assistant Professor of English at George Mason University. He received his B.A. and M.A. in English from Penn State University and received his M.F.A. from the University of Maryland, where he won the James A. Robinson Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching in 2018. He has previously taught composition and creative writing classes at Penn State, La Salle University, and the University of Maryland. His research interests include science fiction, digital rhetoric, and composition pedagogy. At Mason, he teaches face-to-face, hybrid, and online asynchronous courses, for which he received a Stearns Center Online Teacher of Distinction Commendation in 2023.
