Creative Writing
Sophia is a second-year MFA candidate with a concentration in fiction. After graduating with a BA in English and Writing, she moved to Seattle where she worked for a literary arts nonprofit, and later in higher education. Most recently, she was accepted to and attended a Tin House craft intensive with National Book Award Finalist Kali Fajardo-Anstine on inspiration. In the last three years she has been short-listed for Room’s fiction contest, attended the Banff Centre of Arts and Creativity’s competitive Emerging Writers Intensive, and was long-listed twice for Ruminate's William Van Dyke Short Story Prize. When she isn’t writing or teaching, Sophia serves as managing editor for the literary journal, phoebe, and takes her corgi, Winona, for walks in the woods.
