Creative Writing

Sophia is a third-year MFA candidate with a concentration in fiction. After graduating with a BA in English and Writing, she moved to Seattle where she worked for a literary arts nonprofit, and later in higher education. She has been short-listed for Room’s fiction contest, attended the Banff Centre of Arts and Creativity’s competitive Emerging Writers Intensive, and was long-listed twice for Ruminate's William Van Dyke Short Story Prize. When she isn’t writing or teaching, Sophia serves as Editor-in-Chief for Mason's national literary journal phoebe and takes her corgi, Winona, for walks in the woods.
