Cheryl Rice, 1988

Cheryl Rice, BA English '88 and JD '91, is partner at Egerton, McAfee, in Knoxville, Tennessee, where she enjoys representing businesses and business owners in commercial disputes of all types.
She obtained a BA in English literature from George Mason in 1988 and is a 1991 Scalia Law graduate. Rice prioritizes service to her community and the legal profession, as seen by her current role as president of the Knoxville Bar Association, and her past service as president of the Tennessee Lawyers’ Association for Women and on the Tennessee Governor’s Council for Judicial Appointments, which she chaired for two consecutive terms.
During college, Rice was a four-year player and captain of George Mason’s women’s tennis team, and she has continued to support the sport she loves by serving on the steering committee for the Knoxville Challenger Tennis Tournament for the past 10 years. In her free time, she can be found hiking or boating with friends and family.
